NTUSP NEW FACILITY PROGRESS UPDATE

Following the successful endorsement of “ College of Pharmacy ” by the Ministry of Education, the two (2) new facilities related to the new “ College of Pharmacy ” are also making good progress (funded by donation from Jane Hsiao (class of 13)). 

A new Pharmacy building (5 stories) will be constructed at Hsu Zhou road, near College of Medicine .  This building will house all teaching and research elements of College of Pharmacy .  In addition, there will be space designated to facilitate new drug discovery and development capabilities.  Preliminary floor plan design is complete and being circulated for University approval (click on inserted Acrobat document)

Another building will be constructed in ChuBei.  Portion of the building will house a cGMP sterile pilot plant with clinical packaging capability.  This pilot plant will conduct CRO business.  The revenue generated will be used to support College of Pharmacy .  In addition, this pilot plant can provide professors and students opportunities to experience and explore industrial pharmacy career.  Currently it is in the floor plan design stage.

The construction of both building are targeted to start in early 2009.
